New Clients at Roots Chiropractic
Welcome to Our Practice
We look forward to welcoming you to Roots Chiropractic! We’ll email you our new client paperwork, so you can complete it and bring it with you to your first appointment. Alternatively, you are welcome to arrive 15 minutes early to complete the forms in the office.
Your First Visit
Plan on about 30-45 minutes for your first visit. We’ll welcome you to our office, then you’ll sit down with your chiropractor to go over your health history, current concerns and goals. Next, we’ll conduct various assessments, including a postural exam, range of motion tests, orthopedic and neurological evaluations, a computerized scan that shows us how your nervous system is functioning, and any necessary X-rays. Upper Cervical Care uses specific digital X-rays to deliver high-quality care.
Between your first and second visits, we will carefully review your evaluations and X-rays. We use a digital line analysis system to measure your X-rays down to the millimeter. This allows us to provide highly specific adjustments and create a care plan tailored to your needs.
When you return for your second visit, we’ll go over all your results and explain in detail what’s going on and how we think our care can help you. We’ll answer all your questions, and if you’re ready to begin care, you’ll receive your first adjustment. Following your adjustment, you’ll rest in one of our zero-gravity chairs for 15 minutes to allow your nervous system to adapt to the correction that was made and help your body maintain alignment. Then we’ll discuss our recommendations for your care going forward, explain pricing options and answer any questions. Plan about 30 minutes for this visit.
Does your office take X-rays? Why?
We do take X-rays, except for children and pregnant moms. Upper Cervical Specific doctors use X-rays to visualize and ascertain exactly how the vertebrae have moved. This allows the doctor to be as specific as possible. Dr. Lauren and Dr. Michael never guess when it comes to your care. Think of the vertebrae as a lock: the X-rays allow the doctor to know exactly what adjustment, or key, should be used to open that lock.
Upper Cervical Specific chiropractic care is precise, just like the name implies. Due to the specific nature of the adjustment, our doctors take the time to review your exam and X-rays. We analyze and measure your images down to the millimeter, to ensure you’re receiving the correct adjustment. You’ll receive your first adjustment at your second visit.
Pregnant women and children do receive adjustments during their first visit, unless more testing is deemed necessary.
We do not accept insurance. Inviting third party payers into your care gives them a say in how we should care for you. We don’t believe insurance companies have the education to make decisions about what’s best for your care in our office.
Staying out of network allows us to use our education and clinical experience, combined with your goals, to provide individualized care. We’re happy to provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
We do not bill Medicare.
